Homemade All Natural Lip Balm

Ingredients:

1 part Beeswax (you can find this from a local beekeeper or craft store such as hobby lobby)
4 parts Oil (Olive Oil, Coconut, Walnut, Almond, or Jojoba Oils are all good)
8-20 drops of Essential Oil (depends on how much you want of a fragrance)
Chapstick Canisters or Tins

I did 1oz Beeswax and 4oz Olive Oil and 8 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil.

Note: You can use either a double boiler, a pyrex measuring cup inside a pot (which is what I do because we don't own a microwave), or the microwave safe dish and microwave.

Directions:

Start by chopping up your beeswax into cubes, or you can grate it (works both ways just fine). Melt by which ever method you prefer (if your doing it by microwave then melt by 20 sec intervals). When beeswax is all melted add your olive oil and essential oils. I used grapefruit essential oil because it has an uplifting scent that gets me going in the morning. I have also used Lavender, which is healing and a great stress reliever. Once all ingredients are added, you need to stir to an even consistency, like the picture below.

Once you have achieved the desired consistency, ladle or funnel depending on your container type, into containers and leave in a safe level spot to harden.

Note: I used tins the first time, the lip balm is a little hard to get out unless it's a hot summer day, so the second time I did Chapstick Canisters found on esty. They worked perfectly! I love these lip balm's and are perfect little gifts for friends and family as well!
